The super talented, beautiful Carli Bybel from YouTube announced back in August that she was bringing out her own makeup palette.
The palette has 10 eyeshadow and 4 highlighters with a mixture of matte/shimmer neutrals and darker shades.
Carli teamed up with BH cosmetics to bring out this palette with benefits of it being 100% vegan, non-irritating, allergy tested, clinically tested, paraben frree and curelty free.
At first the palette didn’t excite me as much as other products brought out by YouTubers however in a recent video Carli mentioned that you could sign up to the mailing list so that when the sold out palette came back in stock everyone on the list would be notified early. I popped myself on the waiting list and just over two weeks ago I got an email from BH Cosmetics… “Your Carli Bybel palette is HERE! Stock is limited and this will sell out TODAY. Get yours before they’re gone!” = SOLD. I automatically clicked on the link and ordered myself one.
The palette cost $12.50 plus $9.08 shipping & handling to the UK. Order totalling to $21.58 – Converted to GBP on Google equalling it to £14.30 meaning that if this was bought in the UK would be an average price for a palette in Boots/SuperDrug with makeup palettes ranging from £4 for a MUA palette and £14.99 for a Loreal palette.
Shipping & Handling
I ordered from BH Cosmetics on the 11th November and my package arrived on the 24th November giving it 13 days to arrive. I thought this coming from America was quite good timing. It arrived in a long cardboard box and inside the palette was wrapped in cardboard netting and bubble wrap. I didn’t think it was the best type of packaging for a palette but I guess they know best. I would probably order from the BH website again after knowing how reliable their shipping was.
Onto the palette!
I personally wasn’t WOWed by the packaging of the palette and if you look closely on the next photograph you can see the eyeshadow pans aren’t lined up with the packaging correctly. However the eye shadows themselves are amazing.
Some of the shadows are more pigmented than others but that’s not a problem. I think that the colour’s that Carli has chosen are perfect. There’s enough to make a minimal every day look and enough to then create a more glamorous evening look. The choice of highlight is also great, with plenty to chose from and even use on the eyes; because of the colours of the highlighters it makes it perfect for every skin colour.
So far my first impression’s of this palette is quite positive. I genuinely do think the colours and quality of the product is 9/10 however I think the packaging is not the best. I love Carli and I’m so pleased to have her product now that I have it. I can’t wait to have a play around with the palette and create some different looks.
Did anybody else order this palette to the UK? What do you think?
