Collection Pore Minimiser Primer (Primed & Ready)

Hello!

I’m finally doing a review on this brilliant little primer. I first came across it through a friend using it on a live video getting ready on Facebook and as soon as she said she loved it I knew I had to buy it.

COLLECTION powered by WITCH mattifying pore minimiser (primed & ready) | £4.99

This primer is a transparent primer which contains skin-clearing agents such as witch hazel (an antibacterial ingredient). It promises to blend easily, gently hydrate your skin and prolong your makeup whilst mattifying any shine.

It’s a gel based prier which is very similar to the BENEFIT Porefessional which I’m a big fan of, so if you like that please try this! I don’t wear makeup daily as you all know so don’t get through products very quickly but there is quite a difference in price between the Benefit Porefessional and the Collection primer so you can imagine how excited I was to find a similar product… Only if it works as well of course.

The product does contain silicone to help fill in slightly more visible pores but its definitely one of the best types of primers that work for me so I won’t complain at that, though – I know people that would.

This primer keeps my foundation on all day long. I’ll have a Too Faced born this way foundation review up soon, where read that I tend to reach for my porefessional by benefit when wearing that foundation. But since discovering this primer I’ve been using it and found it works pretty much just the same.

Of course theres going to be a slight comparison as there is a large price difference which usually defines what ingredients are in the product themselves. I find that the porefessional definitely minimises and smoothes out my skin a bit more than the collection primer but its not a massive difference.

When I wear this primer with my foundation, which changes quite often, it always gives me the same finish. It amazingly keeps those pores hidden all day and I’m sure its one of the reasons why my shine has been more controlled recently as I’ve not changed anything else in makeup routine.

I’ve found myself reaching for this when I do my makeup regularly because of the affordable price tag and my benefit porefessional for slightly more special events.

I would happily choose the COLLECTION primer out of the two with there being such a large price difference, its more affordable and does the job its meant to do… But I’m definitely not saying I won’t buy both!! (haha)

  • I never really wear a primer, that might be why my foundation never lasts! This is also cheap enough to trial out and if I don’t like it, I’m not to out of pocket.

Thank you!! 😀 I needed to change it up a little 🙂 xx

  • I have oily skin too and use the L’Oréal Infallible Base, however this one from collection sounds just like that one and about half the price so I may actually try this one when I run out! I really hope it works well on me!

I’ve never tried that, I keep meaning to try the L’oreal Infallible range but keep forgetting or put it off when I see it in store. It’s definitely worth trying out, for less than £5.00 you’ve not got a lot to lose! Much love xx

  • Such a good dupe for Benefit and the price difference is insane!!! i didn’t get on very well with Porefessional as it broke me out so much!! But great post lovely!! xox

  • This sounds amazing! I love porefessional and love finding dupes of products which are cheaper and this sounds like it will do the job! I love that it’s powered by witch, their products are so good for helping minimise pores! So affordable, I will for sure be picking one of these up next time I’m out shopping! Fab post! 🙂 Rachel xxxx

I’ve just checked their site and it states “Collection Cosmetics, or any third party acting on our behalf, has never conducted and will never conduct any animal testing on any of our products. The European safety assessments conducted on our products do not require animal test data.” and further on to that they have a web page that shows you all of the products that do contain beeswax, collagen, silk or keratin (http://www.collectioncosmetics.co.uk/sites/default/files/Vegetarian%20and%20Vegan.pdf) however this product contains NONE 🙂 X

  • I really need to get on the primer bandwagon as my foundation needs reapplying at least twice throughout the day. This one sounds fab and I love that it’s a bit of a bargain too. Another great post and really informative xxx http://www.hannahscloud9.com

  • This is the primer I use! I’ve been using it for a couple of months now and I’m obsessed with it. It sits really well on the skin and doesn’t take ages to blend in. I love that it’s a reasonable price too!

  • YES I LOVE THIS PRIMER! I pretty much love anything Witch to be honest!! xxxx

  • I love finding a good dupe, though like you I am still always tempted to go for the higher end one from time to time haha! I personally didn’t like the Benefit Porefessional primer so will be skipping this one x

  • Gonna have to check this out with it being such a reasonable price! Are all Seventeen products powered by Witch as I’ve never noticed! And I’m a massive fan of silicone based primers as I’m all about the smoothing and filling in pores Haha!

Great post as always, lots of love
