It feels like its been a while since I wrote a post so I thought it would be great to start with a quick catch up.
Also, HAPPY NEW YEAR! It’s the first blog post that I’m actually writing of the year. Most of my posts in the last few weeks were drafted for some time and possibly edited slightly to suite the time I was publishing. So, first post of 2017 right?
We’ve got so much to talk about, I’m excited.
First of all, WE GOT A KITTEN. Oh my god, he’s amazing. I love him so much. We both do. We rescued him from the RSPCA at 15 weeks old. His old name was Ebony (no idea why when he’s a boy!) which we weren’t keen on, so renamed him BEAR. How cute?!
It’s definitely been a challenge getting used to him and all of his little habits but most of the time he’s the perfect little friend. So I’m very happy we chose this little fella.
Secondly, we had the best Christmas in our first home with all of our family! It felt like a long-time coming, since Jonny was working away the previous Christmas. It was so good to have him home! Fingers crossed he’ll be home again this Christmas too. His job can never guarantee time off though, so its always pot of luck!
We both went into the New Year together surrounded by a few friends. It was a quiet one, just how I like it.
Rewind back into 2016, Jonny & I went to Dublin for a few days which was really nice. I really wanted to do something special over the first anniversary which marked the day we lost my Grandad one year ago. It’s something I’m still struggling with massively every single day so to stay in at home and get myself worked up even more than I am a lot of the time seemed stupid. We originally wanted to visit Edinburgh but can you believe it was cheaper for us to travel to Dublin?! So thats just what we did. I’m going to do a full blog post on that trip though so keep your eyes peeled.
Since the Nouveau LASH GANG Bday event I’ve been to a few more blogger events which has been great. I’ve met new people and finally met *online* friends. Theres a few of you so I won’t name you all else I’ll probably miss somebody which I don’t want to do!
I did meet Izzy at one of the events though! We met at the Veeno event, then went to the Blog At The Beach event together and she came to stay with me more recently where we filmed a video for both of our channels. YEP YOU READ THAT RIGHT. If you don’t follow me on any social media (where have you been?!) you won’t have known that I’ve just started YouTube for real this time.
Those of you that know my blogging background will know that I started watching YouTube around seven years ago when I didn’t have much of a social life, it’s always been a part of my life since. I’ve always dwelled on having my own channel and being one of those people that can just turn the camera on and look confident on video. But, unfortunately I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I would say “I’ll start soon…” and it would never come around. When Izzy came to stay I kinda just thought, “LETS DO IT. I’M GONNA FILM A VIDEO, and you’re gonna help me!” HA.
Izzy helped me conquer those fears with a collaboration which has really kicked everything off as I already have that filming bug to carry on.
Fast forward to right now.
I’m sat on the sofa watching First Dates hotel with my little kitten fast asleep next to me and I finally feel like I’ve got my mojo back.
I think I’ve covered the main things I wanted to catch up on!
How are you all? Let me know in the comments below.
Catch ya’ soon. Debra-Bow xxx
