I’m doing another hair care post, FINALLY. If you know me, stalk my pictures on instagram, or read my blog and know that I have long hair you’ll be pretty surprised that I never really talk about it on my blog. That’s because I suck at taking care of my hair, honest truth. It’s been so easy to look after for the last few years since I use zero heat on it – BUT, things are changing. I’ve found some new products, I’m using new techniques and I’m ready to share some of my favourite hair care items… starting off with a brand that I’ve used for years.

Herbal Essences has always been a brand that we’ve had in my family home growing up, the shampoo that my mum always picked up in supermarkets and one I was ALWAYS drawn to. Although it was typically my mums and not mine to use being such a young girl, it was still something I always tried to sneakily use… That’s probably why I’m so obsessed with this new shampoo and conditioner that I’ve recently picked up from Herbal Essences. After my friend threw in a photograph of this new gorgeous shampoo and conditioner duo in the group chat, I was instantly drawn. I knew that the next time I did my food shop that I was going to treat my hair to some new bits. I’ve been using the same shampoo and conditioner by TRESemme for quite some time now. It was about time I switched things up. Nothing has changed with my opinion and love for my previous shampoo and conditioner but I’m a worrier and I’m convinced that after using things too much for a while they ware off, maybe they do… maybe they don’t; but I ain’t taking that risk, ya’ know?

If you’ve caught the new TV advert you’ll already know that Herbal Essences have brought out a whole bunch of new shampoo and conditioners in their new Bio:Renew range. It includes a whole bunch of exciting scents and ingredients but I decided to go for the Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner. You can discover them all here though if you’re interested in finding out more.

Herbal Essences bio renew is crafted with a blend of essential antioxidant’s, aloe and sea kelp. It has 0% paragons, gluten and colourants. Is PH balanced and safe for colour treated hair and also aims to bring your hair back to life and restore your hair’s smoothness. As somebody that doesn’t know a lot about hair care and the science behind it, this seems good… and it works for me… So, it must be good right?

I picked this up in my local Morrisons where it cost £4.50 per bottle, not too expensive for a shampoo and conditioner each but not the cheapest either. That’s ok though, this duo costs £6.00 each in Boots and is cheaper than both places mentioned above in Wilko’s. It’s best to check all your local stores before you purchase this as you may be able to find it much cheaper elsewhere.

This shampoo is incredible. Firstly, it smells AMAZING. It lathers up really nice, for me this is what I need to feel like my hair has truly been cleaned thoroughly. I sometimes have to use two loads of shampoo to feel clean when testing out new products but with this one, one was enough. Obviously I do use a slightly more average squeeze of product since my hair is so long and thick but a little bit of this goes a long way. My hair instantly felt soft and I could have stepped out of the shower and left it as it was, but I had to give the conditioner a go too.THOUGHTS: CONDITIONER
I’ll admit, the first time I applied this conditioner to my hair I was a little bit confused. I expected it to feel amazing but it didn’t really seem to do a lot to my hair, UNTIL… I rinsed it off. Once I rinsed the conditioner off I could not believe the transformation. This conditioner has truly saved my life, my hair, the appearance. E V E R Y T H I N G you name it. Since using it that first time I carried on using it in my shower hair care routine and the texture when applying this has changed and does atomically feel amazing. It seems like this shampoo and conditioner came in at the right time to save my hair.ROUND UP
Together, the shampoo and conditioner works fabulously. They are the perfect duo and the scent is absolutely luxurious. It fills my bathroom up and lingers on my hair for days following – always a bonus since I try to wash my hair every 5-7 days. I’ve noticed my hair feeling and looking a lot more healthier since using this and doesn’t feel as damaged as it did prior to using these products. The Argan Oil range in their new Bio Renew collection is aimed at repairing the hair, which is exactly what its done for mine. If you feel like you don’t need this, they do have Volume, Hydrate and Clean in their new collection too which I’ll eventually be trying out. I don’t use heat after using the shampoo and conditioner and allow my hair to dry naturally after using it but no longer sleep on it wet. I’ll reveal all in a full hair care routine post!

As mentioned above, this shampoo is available in supermarkets, Boots and Wilko’s but you can also find it in SuperDrug where it’s currently on offer for £2.98. (BARGAIN!)

If you’ve already picked up this new range I’d love to know what you think and which one is your favourite!

    Lots of Love, Debra-Bow xxx
