The last new product from Friction Free Shaving’s latest launches is one of the most exciting ones (IMO) – I’m so happy to finally write about this because like all of their other products, the Post Shave Balm HAS CHANGED MY LIFEand my legs. They say you should always save the best until last, and this genuinely is.

Along side their Rose razor, pre-shave scrub and shave cream; the post-shave balm is the last product that has been keeping my whole body feeling smooth, fresh and hydrated for the last few months. I’m a huge fan of the FFS family and you should be too so if you haven’t read any of my previous posts on them and have no idea what I’m talkin’ about, Friction Free Shaving is a razor subscription brand delivering top quality razors to your door every month (or bi-monthly if preferred) you can click here to read my full review on the razor. It’s something I believe every girl should have the opportunity to try and keep in their life since it has genuinely changed the way I take care of myself. ANYWAY – we’re here to talk about the Post Shave Balm, so lets get into it, shall we?

“Our post-shave balm cools, refreshes and moisturises – helping to restore your skin’s natural moisture balance and reducing irritation. Blended with Manuka honey for its anti-inflammatory, repairing and moisturising qualities and cocoa butter which is high in antioxidants, it provides deep hydration to soothe and condition your skin.”

Since Post Shave Balms that already exist are mostly aimed at men – us women may not know what the benefits of using one are. I was massively surprised to find out how amazing Post Shave Balm’s can be for our skin. For me, using it on my freshly shaved legs has kept them feeling moisturised and irritation free. It also helps me avoid feeling dry, soothes my legs after putting it through the shaving process and ensures my pores are clean and bacteria free. The ingredients in this particular product help our skin especially if we’ve accidentally cut and bled whilst shaving (it happens to the best of us, girls please tell me you’ve wrongly judged and moved your leg too quickly before, leading to a nasty little scratch… this luckily hasn’t happened to me half as often as it used to before I started using FFS but STILL!). The Post Shave Balm ensures my legs are happy and ready to hit the red carpet at any given time… well, that’s if I was called to walk the red carpet, HA!

Manuka honey comes with all kinds of health benefits that you wouldn’t believe.. so firstly, lets talk about one of Friction Free Shaving Post Shave Balm’s main ingredients and all of the amazing things it can do for you.

Due to it’s anti-inflammatory properties, Manuka honey can heal acne and acne prone skin. It reduces redness and heals congested and inflamed skin, even eczema too! In a post shave balm its a fantastic additive as a lot of people can suffer from redness and inflamed skin all over their body after shaving no matter what tools they’re using; so using a product like this can aid the skin in repairing itself which brings us onto the next benefit. Repairing the skin. Manuka promotes skin regeneration (helping you repair damage and lessen scarring)… once again, easily assisting you after shaving and preventing you from all kinds of things. Along side doing all this and onto yet another benefit: it hydrates the skin by holding in moisture when its applied to your body leaving it dewy, glowing and looking healthy. Finally, because of its moisturising properties: Manuka honey retains moisture without making the skin feel oily – “the first step in wrinkle-free skin“. Manuka is an all round amazing ingredient and assists in your shaving regime by keeping your legs feeling gorgeous, smooth and healthy.

Other than drinking it, I never realised how many amazing health and skin benefits almond milk can bring to the table. The following benefits speak for themselves.
Almond milk is good for dry skin, not only in a product but applying pure almond milk to your skin keeps your skin hydrated and assists in replenishing lost moisture in your skin cells, which brings me onto protecting your skin. Since it rejuvenates skin so well it can protect your skin incredibly well even from sun damage, which yes – even if you’re in sunny (haaaaa) England, you should still be protecting your skin against the sun which the Vitamin E in Almond Milk can do. Vitamin E also heals your skin by renewing skin cells by deeply nourishing it and keeping them supple.

Using products with ingredients that contain Almond Milk in mean that it will soon sooth sensitive skin (if you have it), as scrub/exfoliators and shaving can sometimes be quite tough so having the added ingredients that will look after your skin after shaving from irritation whilst soothing and healing is a HUGE bonus. Last thing? IT’S ANTI-AGING. Say whaaaat. We take care of our face by using anti-acing products so why not the rest of our body? Our skin all over deserves as much love as our face gets and Almond Milk is rich in a number of powerful antioxidant’s that protects your skin.

Lastly, Coconut Oil. You’ve probably got a tub somewhere in your home. If you’ve ever asked anybody for advice on a product to help whiten teeth, help repair your hair, moisturise your skin, cook with… well, you’ve probably been told to JUST USE COCONUT OIL. There’s a big reason for this, because Coconut Oil is AMAZING for your skin and body. It’s everywhere right now and everybody loves it which comes at no surprise because it’s amazing for moisturising your skin cause of the fats in coconut oil. It keeps your skin feeling and looking smooth to the touch. It acts like a disinfectant due to the three-fatty acids within it that soak into the skin and stop infections inside your pores and open wounds, which can happen if you’ve ever cut yourself whilst shaving (lets face it, we’ve all been there). Lastly, Vitamin E… it’s well known for being incredible for your skin, I use it within different products on an every day basis, in moisturisers and even in a hydrating mist form. It’s an all round amazing ingredient as it aids healthy skin growth and repair. It also keeps your skin well moisturised and protects it against cracking, something non of us girls want.

When I found out that Friction Free Shaving were bringing out a Post Shave Balm, I kinda’ hit the roof. I was SO excited and told the team many times how the balm was my most favourite thing from the beginning. When I finally got to try the products before they were even announced I planned a pamper night solely based around trying out these new products.

Men have obviously always had this process in their shaving routines where multiple products are involved but for women, a shave cream and just a razor. That’s why I was super happy to have these extra products to take care of my legs! In my opinion, having a 3-step process has encouraged me even more to include these steps in my routine whereas before, I knew I should probably exfoliate before and moisturise after shaving but I just couldn’t be bothered. How have these products changed me? They are amazing.

I’ve always liked the idea of a post shave balm, its something that has always interested me and if you’ve been around long enough to know what I mean when I talk about the primer hype then you probably already know how amazing this stuff can be. I soon drifted away from using the post shave balm as a primer hype and stuck to normal primers made for your actual skin but it always stuck in my mind about actually having our own post shave balm for the body parts we shave and Friction Free Shaving have ANSWERED OUR PRAYERS. Mine anyway.

I use this as expected, after shaving. I allow myself to air dry before applying around a 50p coin size into my hand and massaging it into my legs just like a moisturiser. It’s been doubling up as a moisturiser for me without having to apply a normal one afterwards and has given me a healthy shine to my legs that I never had before.

I never noticed my skin looking unhealthy before until I started using the post-shave balm and realising how much things had changed. I am SO excited to use this all year round, but especially the summer when I can flaunt my legs all over the place and show you all exactly how beautiful the balm makes me feel. I’ve said this about all 3 of the products but they are the dream team and I could not switch back now.
