A night-in is all I crave but at the same time, some times ya’ just need to get out of the house. Thats why when Meadowhall planned a sweet galentines evening for a small handful of local bloggers that consisted of cocktails (or mocktails for me), food and a makeup masterclass, I couldn’t say no.
Meadowhall is a local indoor shopping centre that has shops, restaurants, cinema, free car parking and even late night shopping almost every single night – it’s one of my go-to places when I want to go for a quiet evening of shopping on a week night instead of braving the weekends. And, if you’re ever in need of an evening in-doors with your girl-friends then this blog post talkin’ all about what we got up to on our galentines night, might inspire you to do the same too. So after work a few Friday’s ago, my lovely friend Kim and I headed towards the Oasis, the food court in Meadowhall to kick start our pre-valentines (galantines) evening at Giraffe.
Cocktails at Giraffe
A meeting place, pre-drinks, whatever you want to call it. Giraffe was the first place we headed to start our girls night with Meadowhall. Giraffe put on an array of cocktails for us to try and mocktails for those that chose not to drink (like me). Giraffe describe themselves as a restaurant passionate about discovering the best tastes, ingredients and recipes from around the world – and although we didn’t taste any of their food on this occasion, the statement definitely backs up their tasty drinks.
Dinner at Wagamama
Next stop, Wagamama’s! If you ask me where I want to eat, you can bet my answer is wagas. So when we found out that dinner was at one of my favourite places I did a little dance, yipeeeeee. We all sat down to a meal and ordered our favourite dishes, me being the awkward one and going for a few sides instead of one main meal – if you’ve never tried this at Wagamama’s I highly recommend that you do. Chilli Squid, Prawn Gyoza, Wok Fried Greens and a bowl of rice is where its at, absolutely winning at life. We took numerous photos, caught up with other bloggers around us, some getting to know one another for the first time and tucked into a lovely meal before heading to our next and final stop.
Makeup Masterclass at Urban Decay
Although I like to tell myself I’m alright at painting my own face, theres never any harm in having a masterclass and learning something new. The girls at the Urban Decay boutique store in Meadowhall put together a fantastic masterclass on an eye look created from one of their best selling naked palettes and told us all about each product used. It’s a good way to get to know the brand a little bit more and what they have to offer if you’re new to makeup. It’s also such a fun evening with the girls when you’re all into makeup like I am!
Overall, we had a lovely night at the galantines bloggers event, celebrating an early Valentines Day with the girls. It’s a plan that anybody can do regardless whether its Valentines/Galentines or not. Thank you to the Meadowhall team for inviting me along. If you’re local to Meadowhall, I’d love to know what is your favourite thing to do at the shopping centre with your girl-friends.
Lots of Love, Debra-Bow xxx
