Glossier, the brand that hit the UK some time last year and completely shook the beauty community.
Do I need a new cleanser? Probably not. Am I going to buy it? Heck yes. How about their brow mascara? SURE.

When I finally placed my first, and only order (so far – oops since writing this post and having it sit in my drafts for a week I’ve placed another order!) with Glossier I picked up three things: Boy Brow, Milky Jelly Cleanser & birthday balm dotcom. So, you can expect a good few individual posts with full reviews. The blogger in me is screaming with excitement. It’s taken me a number of months to really test these things out and figure out if I, 1) like them and 2) think the products are worth the hype. Forgetting to mention that these three items are some of Glossier’s best sellers. No pressure.

First up is Boy Brow, Glossier’s multi-award winning, all-in-one “brow fluffer, filler, and shaper”. Advertised as THE brow product to thicken, fill in, and groom brows into place. “The creamy wax formula is inspired by traditional hair pomade for soft, flexible hold that doesn’t stiffen or flake.” Designed to be used with or without a brow product underneath, it comes in four shades, blonde, brown, black and clear. All shades give you an “oomph” of colour, whilst clear gives you the same soft, conditioning hold, just without the pigmentation. Oh, and its conditioning, thickening and “flexible“. Sounds like everything we all need in one place, right?

Ordering online was super easy, delivery was quick but opening the box was the most exciting part. The there items carefully placed in the pretty pink box complete with Glossier stickers… what kind of delivery is better than this? The packaging of everything I ordered is simplistic yet, cuteMy favourite kind of packaging. Pretty much the whole brand is simplistic, but it works.
When I first picked up the Boy Brow, I was somewhat surprised. I don’t know why but I had imagined it to be much bigger than what it was in my initial first impression. It’s completely understandable since it is only 3.12g, but for £14.00 I felt like it would be slightly bigger than what it is. Either way, hopefully it lives up to the hype and is worth the fourteen quid I could have spent ordering a pizza.

Up until very recently I never used Boy Brow by itself, I tend to use it to finish my eyebrows after using either my holy grail ABH dip brow pomade or one of my new favourite, ICONIC London Eyebrow Cushion. I simply brush through and leave it to dry off where it sets my brows perfectly.

However, like I said it was only recently where I braved the natural brow and started using the boy brow by itself. I do have quite a lot of hair on my natural brows but they never look ‘finished’. Getting my brows tinted more recently has become a big part of my brow routine and when I wear makeup they look ‘done‘ but not quite ‘finished’if ya’ get me. So, my new routine is – tint eyebrows once a week, apply makeup as normal leaving out my brows until the end where I brush through using boy brow in dark brown (a really good shade match for me). A quick and easy routine that has my brows looking tidy, groomed and filled in within seconds without the need for anything else – it’s fantastic since I usually struggle to balance a full-on makeup look and a ‘natural‘ look. I can now channel my inner natural makeup days without feeling like I’m over doing it, yipeeeee.

It dries very naturally and doesn’t leave that hard, crackling like texture like some other brow gels I’ve used in the past do. Glossier describe their Boy Brow as thickening and conditioning and I can confirm this is, TRUE. The applicator wand is small yet very precise and the product is light wearing and doesn’t feel heavy on my brows like a no-name drugstore brand I used to use before. My brows feel and look healthy all the time whilst wearing this and it makes me feel almost confident to rock an overgrown brow when they’re getting close to desperately needing to be threaded but I can’t be bothered to go out and get them done, girls, we all know the feeling too well. Thanks Glossier.

I didn’t really want to LOVE this because of the price and the hype, but I really do. I really understand the hype around the brand now, and I’ll definitely be repurchasing boy brow when I finish it (its been going for a while now so I do feel like the price has been justified).

If you have any Glossier recommendations I’d love you to send them my way, I’m really intrigued to try more from this brand.

    Lots of Love, Debra-Bow xxx
